Book Tag

I have been tagged by Hagelrat over at Seeking Xanadu (she also happens to be the proprietress of Un:Bound - check us out, we're getting fancy!) to do a kind of random book meme. Rules are as follows:

RULE ONE: Grab a book in close proximity to you, go to page 56, and type the fifth line and the next two to five lines that follow.

RULE TWO:  Pick five people who love books and who could receive the Bookworm award with honor.

Although I'm still sick as the proverbial dog, I came into the office this morning, so through my medicine-induced haze I blindly reached out and grabbed the nearest tomb:

Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass (Library of America edition)

"You villain touch! what are you doing?....my breath is tight in its throat;

Unclench your floodgates!  you are too much for me."

Yes, I actually have a copy of Leaves of Grass at my desk.  I also have the complete works of Shakespeare, the Tao Te Ching, Joss Whedon's complete run on Astonishing X-Men, and my college copy of Strunk and White's The Elements of Style.

I am Geek.  Hear me roar.  Or mewl pathetically, 'cause that's how I feel right now.

(note:  I'm not a real "tagger" so anyone reading this post who would like to do the meme, consider yourself "tagged")
